Agon Aretes 2005

The cultural meeting place Hellenikon Idyllion did a contest about the classical Greek philosophical thought and artistical development. The aim is the promoting the study of Greek language and culture.

Results

Opinion and award by the jury members Prof. Werner Schulze - University of the Arts Vienna, Helmut Quack – Greek scholar, Husum and Juliet Diamantopoulou - Greek scholar, Athens.

The number and the quality of the submitted work has surprised us:
There were 26 submitted works - far more of women than of men - from 3 nations (Germany 23, Argentina 2, Spain 1) . With 23 submissions the group of students (18-16 year old) predominated the other group (21 – 26 year old).
The task was difficult, as both intellectual content and creative originality were asked. Both - text and poster design - at the same level was so hard to achieve. So we decided to honor all participants with prices.
